So I had a sigmoidoscopy November and was told it had diverticula disease, was then seen in colorectal outpatients clinic and told sigmoidoscopy showed diverticula disease and to avoid nuts seeds legumes peas beans etc and that I would also need other tests one being the colonoscopy as they were looking for a fistula die to my symptoms.
Yesterday I had a colonoscopy and afterwards the doctor came to see me as they do with a quick briefing and said very good and rambled I no polyps no diverticula????? I said I was told I had diverticula by the doctor who did my sigmoidoscopy and again at the outpatient clinic??? Colonoscopy doctor then said he didn't see it and that sigmoidoscopy was only a small test and that I will be seen in outpatient clinic with results as normal.
I m totally confused?? Why would I be told I had diverticula if I haven't got it??
Anyone shed any light please
