Do you have a preventer?
Do you use a spacer?
Did you have a peak flow meter?
Do you see your asthma nurse at least annually?
Did you see your GP after your attacks?
Do you have an Asthma Action Plan?
The answer to ALL of these should be yes, and if they're not, see your GP on Monday.
If you struggle over the weekend seek out of hours.
If your breathing is so bad you can't get through a sentence, 999.
If you have a peak flow meter and it drops to 50% of your average, 999.
Do not fuck about with asthma.
I know people who have died. I have nearly died.
When you've had an asthma attack, your chances of having another are significantly higher.
Take it easy and I hope you feel better soon. Avoid your triggers. These might be stress, smoke, bleach, mould, cold weather, dust. See your GP and get it under control. x
