I suddenly can’t see things far away

Sorry to ask such a specifically strange question, but I have noticed in the last week or two that I can’t read the writing on the tv if I am too far away from it. This seems strange as I thought it was close vision that deteriorated with age (am 47). I just went outside and all the stars look strange, like there were two of them and the echo one had a little tail.

Am freaking out as I only have one working eye and have a phobia of vision loss. I know no one wants to lose their sight but I spend way too much time worrying about it. Last time I had an eye test I scored perfectly in my good eye, that was about three years ago.

I'd book an eye test. Adults would normally be tested every 2 years

Opticians are open for emergencies, I would think sudden vision change would count so I imagine they will book you in, ring first thing. As per pp, sight tests are every 2 years for adults.

Thank you, I certainly will.

DH really cheered me up by saying I might have a cataract forming. I suppose I will just have to wait and see what they say
