What to take for headache?

I’ve had a low level headache since the weekend that’s now quite high level. I’d assumed it was brought on by insomnia and/or dehydration but have drank lots of water and slept but it’s got worse. Nurofen haven’t helped at all and they usually do.
I’m going to send DH to a chemist but what should I ask him to buy?

Could it be muscle tension? When Nurofen doesn’t work for me it’s usually that. There used to be something great for it, but it came off the market - but I would assume that and ask re a muscle relaxer.

Ibuprofen doesn't really work for headaches. Good old paracetamol does a better job.

I'd take a covid test personally. Headache is a symptom. Its not one of the bloody top 3 though and it bloody well should be.

I swear by paracetamol and ibuprofen together. Sorts me out !

Have you got a carbon monoxide detector?
Do you feel better after a walk outside in daylight?

Aspirin usually helps me when nothing else will, try anadin extra

Just seen all of these replies. Nothing worked but the headache subsided after a couple of days. Covid test was negative!

Syndol was the amazing stuff that got taken off market- it was great stuff!
Paracetamol and ibuprofen together is worth a try though...
