A few weeks ago I woke up with bad shoulder pain. Now it's spread across to my other shoulder. Its like a dull ache. Spoke to the gp and she can't see me till 4th Jan but have pain killers. This has happened to me a few times from just waking up and having bad shoulder pain. Anyone else had this at all

I used to suffer from this when my DC were small...well, I'd actually suffered from it for years since a fal as a teenager.

It's probably muscle tension. I used to be in agony with it. Then I did ONE yoga class and during the class I felt it sort of snap back into place. And it's never been as bad since.

My best advice is to lie down on the floor...flat on your back and stay there for a minute or two...then raise your knees so your feet are flat on the floor and SLOWLY move your head to the left...then SLOWLY back to centre....then SLOWLY to the right.

Do that a few times. Have a hot bath with epsom salts...after the bath do the floor thing again.

Lying on the hard floor allows your muscles to return to their proper place.

After Christmas, get onto some online Yoga classes.x

Try lifting your arms over your head (when lying on the floor). I had terrible shoulder pains, went to the osteo and apparently it’s because I hunch my shoulders up when I carry a shoulder bag.

Had some really bad shoulder pain with stress. Therefore assumed tension, went away 😊

Oh yes! As Hagen says....but don't lift them over your head....have them by your sides and then keeping them on the floor move them up towards your head like you're making a snow angel. Then put them back...do it a few times.
