rash on my arse! [pics]

Name change, obviously Grin

As an early xmas present to all, please find attached a picture of my rashy, saggy arse. You're welcome! Xmas Wink

I would really appreciate any advice as to what this might be.

I've had it for about two years. It started out as a small, round patch of pink, dry skin. Over time, it has spread out and sort of healed (?) in the middle so it's now an outline of a circle. It is slightly raised, and not itchy, but it is sensitive (e.g. if I scratch my thigh and catch it with my nail it stings).

I usually douse it with Aveeno when I get out of the shower, but this doesn't seem to do very much. I've tried another moisturiser as well (well know dermatological one - can't remember name).

I am quite self conscious about it, and have recently found another patch of dry skin on my arm which I'm concerned is going to do the same thing but in a more visible place. Will go to the doctor's if need be but seems a minimal thing to go for.

Hope someone can help!

I’m wondering if it’s ringworm? Or is that smaller in dimension? It’s just how it’s in a circular form. But perhaps ringworm would spread after 2 years!

nodogz · 22/12/2020 23:47

Could it be ringworm? Not a worm but a fungal infection. That spreads out in a circle. I'd blast it with tea tree

Thank you, I will look into that!

I would go to the pharmacy with the photo of your arse cheek and show your arm rash also... ringworm is v common (awful name nothing to do with actual worms). They would be able to say yay or nay to ringworm 👍🏼

I had ringworm on the side of my neck/shoulder and it looked identical to that.

ClinkyMonkey · 23/12/2020 01:36

Same as pp's, I had ringworm on my face a couple of years ago which looked like that, albeit much smaller (no offenceGrinGrin). An anti fungal cream cleared it up in about a month.

Thelonewanderer · 23/12/2020 01:37

I have discoid dermatitis which looks like that so that could also be worth looking into?

partyatthepalace · 23/12/2020 01:46

I’d guess ringworm but do go to GP (not least becos they are pretty useless at Dermotology and if they don’t know will be a long waiting list to see a Derm)

InglouriousBasterd · 23/12/2020 01:51

Ringworm to me too, I had it on my arm once and it was identical.

100% ringworm. Xx
