Piriton for over 1s. Calamine is nice when it first goes on. Other than that, cool baths with a bit of bicarb in and some loose cool clothes.

Thanks very much. She's five, so I can give her Piriton. It will be a struggle though, she hates taking medicine. She had a bicarb bath tonight, I will try oatmeal too. Poor bunny, she is absolutely covered in spots.

Aqueous calamine cream worked wonders for my DDs it is easier to apply and not as drying as calamine lotion on its own. I also used piriton to ease the itch at night.

When DD has chicken pox, I was advised to use the calamile cream instead of the lotion. The lotion is nice and cool when it goes on but as it dries, it makes the skin feel itchy. The cream moisturises the skin instead of drying it out.

Hope there are no more spots appearing and that the ones she has start drying up soon.
