Hi there does anyone suffer a feeling of like a puddle of water in the back of their throat constantly because of reflux? Also burning itchy ears and nose. I finished a course of antibiotics 7 weeks ago for h pylori but the reflux continues. I do suffer bad anxiety to . The water feeling in throat drives me to insanity . Please if anyone can relate?

Is it a post nasal drip, rather than reflux?

AstridAv · 23/12/2020 08:03

I have LPR which is like reflux in the throat. No typical symptoms of reflux but causes lots of post nasal drip. Sound similar?

TheSilentStars · 23/12/2020 08:42

The h.pylori might not have gone. I needed more antibiotics about 4 months later.
Alternatively, the gastritis symptoms caused by the h.pylori might still be there. Are you on omeprazole or sth like that?
I found peppermint oil capsules a godsend.

Hi thanks for your replies. Its not post nasal drip its definitely from acid . I have waiting on results of a retest for h pylori so hoping its negative. O think my symptoms are very similar to lpr . Do you have a feeling of water in throat? I have just started back on nexiem as had to stop to do retest.

Although if the lpr can cause the post nasal drip then it could be I suppose. But I dont have a blocked nose.

I don’t have a constant feeling of anything in throat, but I’m currently going through something like this wondering if it’s reflux. I’ve been having on and off pains in the areas on the pics, went to see the nurse and explained I keep having burning in my throat, the other morning I woke up at 5am like I had been drowned, had the feeling I had to keep swollowing, felt like I was breathing fast/couldn’t breath and afterwards the burn in my throat was horrible!
The nurse put me on lansoprazole I’m on my 4th/5th day. The feeling went for 2 days or so, but this evening it’s slightly crept back, and I have a constant need to clear my throat, and have a dry cough.
How are you feeling now?Flowers

I get terrible acid reflux and alway have a pooling of water. A bit like before vomiting. I used to take Ranitidine but of course that's been taken off the market. I find i need to prop myself up to sleep but even things like bending over to pick something up can cause an attack. I sometimes wonder if it could be gallstones. Im also a very anxious person and the worse i feel, the worse my acid reflux is. That could be coincidence though. Oh and ive found i need to eat pretty early in the evening or I'll suffer all night!

I get pains exactly there as well.
MrsGxx · 28/12/2020 22:05

@Plump82 I haven’t been diagnosed with acid reflux, it sounds like I have it though definitely.
I mainly suffer at night, but it always wakes me up burning in my throat, and I can have it pretty much all the next day. I seem to suffer symptoms with no pain? This is why I question it.
Do you also have a dry cough/constant throat clearing?
The pains I also get either side of my chest area. It’s not constant, doesn’t hurt, just niggles and annoying 😤
I have thought about gallstones too although I’m really not sure. It’s crazy what symptoms can do to you isn’t it and you question it. I have crazy anxiety and cause myself a lot of upset googling symptoms etc. I know exactly how it feels x
