Wisdom tooth

I've got a wisdom tooth that's began erupting at the top, however it doesn't feel like there's enough room for it and it's very difficult to chew now as it feel like it's biting my cheek.

It's been sore for the last few days, and feel generally uncomfortable, there's no swelling as far as I can tell or anything, just a general soreness rather than a bad pain.

Will this get better? Is it just because it's still at the stage where it's cutting through the gum (I think there's still another half or third to come through).

I don't want to bother the dentist if it's likely to ease, which it does feel like it has started to slightly, but I know infected wisdom teeth can be an issue - how would I know if it's infected or there was an issue?

Is there anything I can do at home to help? Salt water gargles?

Salt water rinses and corsodyl rinses (separately obv). If it is impacted though it may not be able to fully grow and will be at risk of infection. Best to call dentist and ask. I've had 3 of mine out due to them being impacted and kept getting infected. Waiting on last one to make an appearance before it too can be yanked out! I'm hoping it stays put.
