Sleep apnoea

I just had a telephone consultation with the sleep apnoea clinic and they informed me that if I'd scored one more point they would have informed the DVLA to take my license away Confused
I didn't know that was even a thing! Anyway I've been fast tracked and will have a cpap machine by the end of the week.
I'd have lost my job as driving is a condition of the work I do. Also the night time panic attacks I've been getting are not a mental health thing they are a sleep apnoea thing apparently. Who knew!

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in October 2019. I have been given a CPAP machine since then. When I saw my sleep clinic consultant in February 2020 he told me to get in touch with DVLA but also added that as I was now using the machine he would let them know that I should be allowed to retain my driving license.
Luckily I rarely drive so this was not an issue for me. When I did get in touch with DVLA they changed my license to an annual one so I now have to reapply every year. Unfortunately due to Covid I have not had any follow up appointments with the sleep clinic so will have to wait and see what happens early next year.
