apicoectomy

After some success stories please. Had an apicoectomy about 9 days ago and feeling sore/numb in the region beneath the tooth were the procedure occurred. Stitches came out 2 days ago and consultant mentioned things will take time to heal. How long might this be? Mentioned that the gums are healing well so no infection present ...

....and how long for the soreness to go? I did ask the question to the consultant but received a vague 'a while' response ...
