Liver deficiency and insane itching

I had blood tests a couple of weeks ago and my results have come back as borderline. I asked what that meant and the doctor said something had come up on my liver (he gave me a name but I can't remember Blush) but that it was only minor and I need to have bloods taken again in 6-8 weeks to see if it's cleared up.

In the last maybe week and a half, I'm itching like mad at bed time. I feel like I could literally scratch my skin off all around my chest, back, neck and head mainly and also have lumps appear in the area that's itchy... I'm scratching to the point that I'm bruising myself and damaging the skin.

Has anyone else had this? Will it clear up? It's driving me mental!

Oh dear. I had a priblem with my liver when i was pregnant that made me itch like crazy so you have my sympathy. If you havent been prescribed anything for this and you are relying on over the counter remedies then I highly suggest Eurax lotion or cream. It's expensive but the BEST thing. I also suggest purchasing a soft baby brush to rub on your skin instead of scratching yourself raw. If you are having trouble sleeping, try using piriton at night (it won't stop you itching but it will help make you drowsy / relaxed).

Other things that may help are cool baths, ice packs and granpa''s pine tar soap.

Good luck, I hope your problem clears up soon. There's nothing more torturous than a constant itch!
