Not taking now but have it in the cupboard ready for when I get an appointment, I missed the pre op call and they left a message saying they would call back but they haven’t yet and that was a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry I can’t offer any advice but just wanted to say good luck with the prep and the appointment.

Not now but I've had it a few times. Mix it with squash, have it ice cold and sip it through a straw is my advice. Hope your procedures go well.

SnowmanDrinkingSnowballs · 08/12/2020 17:20

Use wet wipes once it kicks in otherwise you end up sore.

alexdgr8 · 08/12/2020 17:25

but never put them down the toilet. so many drains blocked.
have done movi-prep twice. was ok, not as bad as people say.
be careful of mixing it with anything except water. follow the instructions to the letter.
just be sure to have unimpeded access to toilet for several hours.
presumably you are doing it the day before the procedure.
i wouldn't go on public transport. got a lift/ mini-cab.
i also used a conti-pad en route for added reassurance.

alexdgr8 · 08/12/2020 17:27

large / night-time sanitary pad may serve a similar purpose.

DidgeDoolittle · 08/12/2020 17:29

Drink plenty of water as well or you'll get a stinking headache

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 08/12/2020 19:00

So I've had nearly all of it (last little bit left) and I'm already on the toilet!

My stomach is making some gurgling noises too

Appointment is at 10:30 tomorrow I'm dreading it as it's an hour in the car and got to drop kids off at school first!

Mine was all done by midnight the night before so you should be fine in the morning.

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 08/12/2020 19:33

This stuff is in 2 parts so one lot tonight between 5-7pm and then the next lot to be taken between 4am-6am again which is why I'm worrying about the school run in the morning and then getting to the hospital without having a horrible accident.

The first lot is definitely working I'm not sure I'm going to bother with the last small glassful!!!

but surely you won't be able to drive back afterwards, will you. if you have sedation.
when i've had it they insist on someone accompanying, to escort you home afterwards because you may not be safe alone. i've never heard of someone driving themselves there and back.
was there no mention of this in the letter ?

Terriergrrrrrrrr · 08/12/2020 20:08

You will be utterly empty before the procedure. And I had a colonoscopy without sedation - it was weird but fine. Good luck with it all.

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 08/12/2020 20:17

My partner is taking me but what I meant was we will be dropping the kids off then driving an hour to the hospital. What a nightmare!!
No I wouldn't be driving myself!!

I intend on taking sedation, gas and air and anything else I'm dreading it

I'm just very anxious about it all - I'm wondering how long this first lot of stuff will take to work thru but also whether I absolutely have to take the second lot of stuff in the morning if I'm completely cleared out tonight ?? As in (reading the letter) once I'm passing clear liquid?

@Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst
I had a colonoscopy a few weeks ago and honestly the worst part was drinking the moviprep.
I drank all of the first packet and then it was running clear so I didn't bother with the morning packet and it was absolutely fine! Think two packets is a bit over kill and tbh I couldn't have stomached another glass of the stuff!!

Hope all goes well for you tomorrow! xx

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 08/12/2020 21:07

@Babymamma192

Thankyou so much for the reassurance. I'm hoping I'm "running clear" soon - the stuff is absolutely revolting! I agree the thought of mixing it up and having it all again is gross!

I've been very careful today and not eaten very much deliberately- so I'm hoping that it'll be ok.

🤞

I didn’t know you didn’t need to take the second lot of it was clear. That’s good to know, I have also planned to eat little the day or so before my prep so that hopefully there is no too much to come out.

Good luck for the rest of the evening.

lostandfound55 · 10/12/2020 09:33

Hope you got on ok at your appointment op
