Flu jab

Hello all
So I went to my local pharmacy to get my flu jab. Once it was done & I left then I realised the pharmacist didn't clean my arm with cotton wool or whatever it is they use before injecting me. Is that normal now or what? I am a bit worried about infection, and wondering if he treated me differently 🤷🏽‍♀️. Shouldn't he clean first b4 injection?

No you don’t need to clean the skin before injecting.

Skin has your own bacteria on it, and is likely to be clean. The needle is sterile, and the injector doesn’t touch the needle at all. The chance of infection from a flu jab is so negligible it isn’t even worth thinking about.

@Sidge thanks for the reply, that is so reassuring
