H pylori treatment

Hi all, I posted twice about this before. I took my antibiotics and today is my last day of them. I have stopped vomiting and I am now eating again. However, I asked my GP if she would retest me to see if H pylori is gone and she point-blank refused and told me 99% of people are better and if i get sick again then i'll know... but I do not want to wait for myself to get sick again and I don't want it to be even worse than now... did anyone else not get retested and were fine?

I think they don't retest routinely because (iirc) you might get false positives.
I was retested in the August when I'd had the antibiotics in April because I still didn't feel right- I still had it so had another round of antibs. That seemed to clear it (though I was never retested) the GP did say that if I was still positive after the second lot of antibs I'd have to learn to live with it and just take omeprazole forever which I was a bit Hmm about.
