Relentless Fanny Farts/Queefs ruining my life

A few months ago I started fanny farting more than usual. It was quite funny to begin with and is now so frequent - up to 30 queefs a day. This happens a lot when I go from sitting to standing and from lying down to standing up. I am so very windy and it's coming out of my poor vagina. They don't smell. I have spoken to my GP who doesn't know what it could be and seems perplexed by it. She is physically examining me next week. I fanny fart so frequently and loudly and it's awful. I currently work from home so it hasn't been an issue with other people hearing it but I start work next week in the office and I don't know what to do! My tummy is very gurgly too.
The internet hasn't been much help. The GP has ruled out a fistula. I'm really worried. Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm so sorry, but I'm loopy from tiredness and reading that queers are ruining your life has me cackling.

Seriously though, I hope you get this sorted.

Interesting it got a bit better with the kefir. As I said unthread, mine went away with the tofu and miso diet. Thank heaven as it was embarrassing and worrying. Exact same symptoms.

@kissmelittleass Gosh, you've had so many forms of investigation. I really hope they find out what the issue is.

@HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife Hi hope you're well , I'm just wondering how you got on with the CT scan? Any answers for you yet?

HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife · 08/03/2021 21:49

@kissmelittleass
I'm still waiting for a consultant appointment to discuss my CT scan results. The appointment is next Monday. I'll update you when I've met with the consultant. The queefs had really calmed down to barely anything after I started drinking kefir. It really worked for a few months. Unfortunately, the fanny farts are back again. Not as bad as before but I'm worried they'll escalate again. @kissmelittleass How are you doing? Any news about your condition?

@HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife Great you're being seen next Monday good luck with results do let me know how you get on.
I am having a water soluble contrast enema tomorrow at 11am 🤮 dreading it tbh doesn't sound very pleasant and I'm also worried about what the outcome will be, as I've already said no other tests have shown a fistula but I do have bubbles in my urine every day. This is the last test I'm scheduled for thank god!
Have any other tests being suggested for you? The CT scan was the first test I had, good luck with appointment next week!

HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife · 09/03/2021 12:40

@kissmelittleass
Best of luck with your procedure tomorrow. Let us know if they come up with any answers.
I haven't been told of any further tests. I'll find out more on Monday.

Good luck. It must feel like you’ve been waiting forever.

HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife · 15/03/2021 11:03

Had my call with the gynaecological to discuss my CT scan results. He said everything looks perfectly normal and that there is nothing further he can do for me. He has referred me to a gastroenterologist. Whilst doing the CT scan they did see a small nodule on my liver. I am on the waiting list for an MRI scan to investigate this further.
@kissmelittleass How did your procedure go?

kissmelittleass · 15/03/2021 16:19

@HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife Good news they didn't find anything best of luck with the MRI.
What is the gastroenterologist appointment for? Will he be able to offer you more tests to look for a fistula?
I had the contrast enema last Wednesday the doctor said afterwards everything looked normal no connection between the bowel and bladder that would cause a fistula.
This was the fifth procedure I've had to check for a fistula and all of them have ruled it out but I still have symptoms like yourself.
I have an appointment at the colorectal surgeon clinic next Tuesday to discuss latest procedure so I'll see what he says, no idea what they can do now?
Thanks for updating me, let me know know how everything goes for you good luck!

@kissmelittleass The consultant seemed to think it was a problem with gas in my tummy region and something going on there. He theorised that given the absence of any gynaecological issues the problem could lie with the gastro system. This makes sense to me because when I get flare ups my tummy gurgles a lot, I fart (bum) and queef/fanny fart, so perhaps that could be an explanation. Also drinking kefir has really, really helped. @kissmelittlearse It's a long road, isn't it? Hope we get some answers soon. Wishing you all the best.

İ used to have them too for many years. İ agree with PP that it could be related to constipation.

HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife · 15/03/2021 20:44

@Tsubasa1 Was there anything that helped yours go away? How many years did you endure them for?

OP posts:
kissmelittleass · 15/03/2021 21:52

@HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife wow at the tummy problems! I've had tummy problems for years lots and lots of bum gas gurgling in tummy and the last year or so constipation. I have had occasional fanny farts no where as much as you get it but recently I do get a sensation of like a bubble popping from my vagina but no noise tmi sorry!!
I wonder is there some connection ? I get bubbles in my urine too but I don't think you get that do you?

HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife · 15/03/2021 22:18

@kissmelittleass No, I don't get bubbles in my wee. Since starting the kefir things went completely normal for a while but the gassiness has returned a bit now. Nothing like it was, so a huge improvement still. That's what makes me think it could well be something to do with my gut. We'll see what the gastroenterologist says, though I think it'll be an age before I'm seen.

I had them for a few years and I really can't remember when they stopped, it was so long ago. But some time after that I got sick and it was discovered I had celiac disease. Obviously then my diet changed dramatically. So there may be a conexion there if my timeline is correct.

HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife · 21/04/2021 08:48

So the gassiness, wind, farting and fanny farts just stopped. It's been a month now and I'm back to normal. I'm cautiously optimistic. To say it's a huge relief is an understatement. I'm still waiting for the gastroenterologist appointment. The only thing I've changed is going on a low carb diet.

@kissmelittleass How are you doing?

@HorridFannyFartsRuiningMyLife Came on here to see how you were doing and see you posted an update sorry I missed it!
Great to hear your symptoms have gone, have you seen the gastroenterologist yet?
I've been doing low carb for years but fanny farts weren't really an issue for me, my symptoms slightly different to yours.
I saw the colorectal surgeon at the end of March who has now discharged me as every test I had done has showed no signs of a fistula thank god but no explanation for my symptoms either.
I showed him a picture of the bubbles in my urine and he said to drop a sample of urine into my doctors surgery to check for protein and if it was negative (which it was) then to just carry on as no explanation as no sign of a fistula.
So that's that basically, I'm of course delighted as he said he was too as a fistula meant major surgery.
Just carrying on but still wondering why I get the bubbles, some days there's nothing other days lots.
Let me know how you get on at your upcoming appointment, must be a relief the queefs have gone!
