I spent last night not being able to sleep with pain in my abdomen it felt like my gut area, I had bloating and wind both ends. I couldn't lie comfortably and couldn't sleep. The pain seemed to come in waves.

I've had this several times in the past few years and I've had this bout since about last Sunday.

I have digestive issues: acid reflux and a hiatus hernia which I take omeprazole for, I have IBS too

I don't want bother my doctor during these Covid times

I'm overweight by about 2 stone and know losing weight might help but i can't seem to summon up the motivation

Could be your gallbladder? Is the pain Right side just under your ribs and goes round to your back?
I had gallstone pain for two years oh the pain was agonising at some points, and I even became jaundice, it came in waves and I was very gassy. Worth phoning to gp and tell them of your troubles it could be you ibs playing up.

What did you eat yesterday? If it was high in fat content it’s likely to be your gallbladder.

Sundaypolodog · 03/12/2020 17:27

Thanks @HappyChildminder @MooseBeTimeForSummer it's mainly on my left side - which is where the Hosp found the hiatus hernia a few year ago and I usually get ibs pain on the left as well
I try to avoid bread as it can be a trigger to problems and yesterday I found some nice rye bread in M &S and thought it would be ok so had two slices toasted with my evening meal - maybe it was that as I can't think of anything else - I had oats, berry's and yoghurt, homemade leek and potato soup and for dinner a fried egg and mushrooms, avocado and spinach and asparagus

I get this fairly often and just assumed it's IBS.

Ardenon · 03/12/2020 18:19

Rumbling Appendix?
Diverticulitis perhaps.
Or is their a link to ovulation or your period?

kissmelittleass · 03/12/2020 22:43

Left side could be gastritis if the pain presents under the left rib or diverticulitis if it's lower left, I know how painful digestive issues are I've been suffering for years and have pain most days so I feel for you it's horrible.

Sundaypolodog · 03/12/2020 23:15

Thank you @kissmelittleass I'm wondering if it's that as most of the symptoms I get fit. I usually try to keep to a fairly good diet avoiding my triggers but I've had a rich foods recently. It's a warning to get back on track and - also to try to shift this extra 2 stone
