I have been referred to the breast clinic because of an abnormality. I was planning to go alone as I don’t want to share this with family and friends before I know for sure there is somehting to be concerned about- but do people recommend bringing someone? Can I do this in time of covid?

I went by myself, took a book as there is a fair bit of hanging around.

All the best, fingers crossed it’s nothing.

My MiL is currently going through similar - she’s had a biopsy and awaiting the results. She hasn’t been able to take anyone with her to any appointments so far and can’t take anyone to the results appointment.

Thank you - I thought that might be the case. I hope your MIL is ok.

I went by myself this time last year. I didn’t have a lot of waiting around and fortunately got the all clear on the day. It was still quite an anxious experience though and with hindsight I wish I’d taken a friend along.

Hope all goes well for you OP

I was diagnosed with Breast cancer in April- so peak lockdown. My DH wasnt allowed into scans/ tests etc but was allowed in to see consultant for moral support. I would ring the clinic and ask, it seems like a bit of a lottery depending on where you live. Good luck x

I just wanted to say thank you all for advice. I went to the clinic and all ok, they have advised genetic testing.
I wish you all well, Redannie I hope your treatment goes well.
