Diabetes?

My DS Is 2, he’s had frequent balinitis requiring antibiotic treatment, last time I went to the GP he said it could be diabetes, and took a finger prick test which was about 6.7. He decided that was ok and ruled it out. My son now has oral thrush, along with irritability frequent urination and waking in the night thirsty. Am I reading too much into this or would it be worth taking him back to the doctors for a urine dipstick test for glucose? My gut has been telling me diabetes for a while but I’m wondering if maybe I’m just paranoid? ConfusedConfused

Although a blood sugar reading of 6.7 is within normal range I'd listen to your instincts and take him back. They say look for the 4Ts with type 1 diabetes; Tired, Thin, Thirsty, Toilet. Hopefully it's not and you can rule it out but for the sake of a finger prick or a ketone check it's worth having piece of mind.

Thankyou Smile I think I will! He just doesn’t seem right. Maybe it’s the weather! I’ve never had any of this with the older two so it’s all new to me x

I would take him.

Whether it's Diabetes or something else, he's not right

I hope it's something they can 'fix' rather than diabetes, but if it is, it's better to find out sooner rather than later.
