Enlarged Spleen

Hello all,

Has anyone had any experience with an enlarged spleen?

I approached my GP in June due to heavy, painful periods which I had not experienced before (37 years old), the pain was located mainly in my pelvis and felt like when my DD decided to turn one night when I was pregnant with her. I'd also been suffering from cold sweats, horrific diarrhoea so much to the point I couldn't leave the house .

GP took blood samples and referred me for a pelvic, abdomen and trans vaginal ultrasound. The pelvic and trans vaginal came back clear ( bartholian cysts spotted but not of concern), smear came back clear as well but she has referred me to a gynaecologist.

I had a call from get this week to say that on the abdominal scan they had spotted my spleen was enlarged so have asked for more blood tests, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar?

Thanks

I’ve had an enlarged spleen for roughly 2 years. Mine is from a disease I have that’s been treated and will eventually go back to it’s normal size. The hospital or doctors should investigate as to the cause of it as left untreated you could need your spleen removing.

Mines doesn’t cause me any discomfort other then the odd feeling of being swollen near my ribs.
