For the past few weeks, maybe months now, I’ve been woken most nights with pins and needles in one or both arms/hands. Then I noticed that my hands were a bit swollen in the mornings.
I also get the tingling in my right hand when I’m on my iPad. Sometimes the tingling is above my right elbow.
Saw the GP, waiting for blood tests.
Yesterday I was driving home and I got the tingling in my right arm. That’s a new one !
I have a splint for my right hand from a short episode one hot summer , so I’ve used it and it makes it a lot better.
But I need my hands for work and if I’m going to get any loss of sensation I can’t do my job. Obviously I’m getting increasing symptoms.
So, do I stick with splints and see if they ‘cure’ it, or push for the injection/operation ?
Any experience welcomed.

Hi ive had CTS ( treatment then surgery) in both hands. What you have doesnt sound like CTS, you only get it in your hands/wrists as the nerve is compressed there. If your elbow and arm hurts it sounds like the damage is higher up, maybe your neck or shoulder? I would be concerned about the swollen hands too, as far as i know thats not a symptom either. I think blood tests and maybe an xray/ scan would be in order here?

Thanks for your reply. I went to the GP with the swollen hands and she admits that she has no idea what is causing it.
Because the splint has made it better on the last two nights that I wore it, I suppose I hoped that that’s what it is.
