Black eye won't go away??

I had some facial trauma over 2 months ago now. Resulted in a Hematoma lump on my cheek. The Hematoma lump is still there (very small) and my under eye is still so dark that people constantly point it out.
I asked the doctor about 3 weeks ago who dismissed it saying 'it can take ages to heal'

Can I ask if anyone has any advice? It's really getting me down and my gp doesn't seem interested as it's not actually causing me any physical pain.

I have a haematoma on my lip since April caused by a trauma. It is noticeable and my dentist has referred me to Maxillofacial at the hospital. She said it probably should have gone by three months and I might have pinched a gland underneath. If it hasn't gone by the New Year you could always ask your GP for a referral to a specialist. I know how you feel though. I don't think I'm particularly vain but it is annoying me and people do say ' oh what have you done to yourself'. Don't let it get you down too much.

I did it by biting myself while eating. I'll have to eat more elegantly in future...

I hasten to add that I'm wearing a mask most of the time but people notice it on Zoom!

Try arnica tablets, they are a herbal remedy for healing I think. You can buy them in a chemist.

Have you tried arnica cream ?
