I've noticed a definitive swelling at front of neck which I think is a goitre. Not lumpy or bumpy, just a general subtle swelling. One of my Dr colleagues commented on it a couple of years ago and suggested I saw my GP which I did. Had thyroid bloods which were normal and an ultrasound which was also normal. I've never had a particularly slim neck but think the swelling is definitely larger again recently. I'm 45 and been having some perimenopausal symptoms, am overweight, exercise regularly and have a reasonably healthy diet (bit too much sweet stuff and large portions hence 5-7kg overweight).
Should I go back to GP, would they repeat bloods and scan if normal for same symptoms 2 years ago?
What are possible causes and treatment if benign goitre is the diagnosis?
