Neon yellow pee!

So for the last three days I've had neon yellow pee! I haven't eaten anything unusual. Mostly fruit, veg and salmon.

I do take a multivitamin. Google said something about too much vitamin D but I can't have eaten that much veg! Just a large portion each day.

Any ideas?

As other posters have said, its the vitamins that your body doesnt need being peed out. Weird though when you see it for the first time!

You don't get Vit D from veg. Bit confused over what you mean.

You can get yellow pee from too much Vit B. It's a known thing- it's not dangerous, it's just the amount in a Vit pill makes pee very yellow- think it's the thiamin.

@JinglingHellsBells ah yes I think that's what I meant! I've stopped taking the multivitamin for a couple of days and my pee is still neon!!

Weird that you're still peeing neon. Are you drinking enough water?

You're not taking anything else that may contain vit B -no berocca, no other supplements?

@TheSpottedZebra hi! No nothing else and I drink at least 4 pints of water a day.

Do your vitamins contain Evening Primrose Oil? That will cause it too!

It's the riboflavin in B vitamins that is most responsible for the yellow colour. It's a bit alarming the first time you see it, though...

It's water soluble so your body takes what it needs and excretes the rest.

Thats why I dont take these things. Massive doses if vitamins is just pointless

Zoink, you've not got a new rim block (sounds dodge), or you're mostly peeing in a bleachy loo or anything like that are you? That can colour change.

It's odd that it's still happening days after you've stopped the b vits.

Get it checked, for DP it was an early sign that something serious was wrong.

@TheSpottedZebra no we don't. I'll keep an eye on it for a few more days and then call GP if still occurring?

That's good! Hope it was the vit B just working its way through....

Maybe have a few weeks without vits before you start back up again to check you don't you back to being neon

When I take a Vit C dissolved in water I always get neon wee.

Caffeine does this to me as well

Are you drinking a lot of coffee?

I take Centrum multivitamins, or a Boots equivalent. First pee after taking it is always highlighter yellow!

It will be the riboflavin in your vitamins x
