I’m due for my smear test in January , but I’ve book it in for next week.

This was my 2018 result . I forgot all about it until I found the letter this morning !
Should I be worried about this ?

I don't think you need to worry - they state the changes will probably resolve of their own accord and are unlikely to get any worse. This is why they are only planning to see you after the usual time interval.

Cervical cancer is usually very slow-growing - the cells go through several pre-cancerous changes first, which takes years. It doesn't sound like you had cervical cancer when your last smear was done, and even if you had developed pre-cancerous changes in the mean time, they would almost certainly still be at the pre-cancerous stage now, meaning that treatment is fairly straightforward and very successful.
