Barnet is sending letters to parents because there have been nine 'suspected' cases of measles there.

Do any MNers live up that way?

Does someone want to tell me about measles then? Is it that bad? I just sail through life not knowing about things till they affect me

I had measles as a child, lots of my friends did as well. Was a common one then along with all the others.

very poorly (but at home) for about a week, 10 days...

yes, South London

goodness, my two had their single measles jab 3 weeks ago - am glad now!

I am just north of Barnet in Potters Bar and there have been two cases in ds' nursery in the last few weeks .. one of which was a member of staff that had had it when she was 2! Apparently it is possible to get it a second time round .. albeit mildly.
