During the first lockdown, I was getting heavy breakthrough bleeding (on pill), ovulation type pains, and then when I was on a break, really unusually heavy periods. GP wasn't giving routine appointments and advice by email was 'blah blah breakthrough bleeding can happen', despite being on the pill for years and years and it hasn't happened before aside from light spotting. Bit crap and dismissive. I also usually take the pill consecutively to stop periods completely, but I was having to take the week break because otherwise the bleeding would roll on and on. If I took the break, I'd have a really heavy bleed, then at least get about 2 weeks free afterwards. Recent development is that now, I'm getting no breakthrough bleeding, and when I stop the pill for the break, my 'period' is so so light. Maybe a day of extremely light bleeding, no cramps at all, then one day of spotting, then nothing. Again, GP advice very dismissive... 'The pill can make periods lighter'. Anyone have any ideas of what's going on?! This is all unusual for me and I'm not convinced by the Gp's 'ah it's all fine' attitude.
