Breast Problems

For about 6 months I have had a really itch left breast, just the left one but the itching has been so intense I have cut myself at times with my nails.

A couple of weeks ago I noticed my nipple had kind of "spread" like it looked bigger and covered a lot of my aerola on one side.

Perhaps TMI but I had that nipple pierced for a couple of years till I took it out 4 years ago to breastfeed. It left my nipple slightly hard all the time which was fine but now I have noticed it going really flat. It has never done this before!

I don't have a lump in my breast but I can't help feeling worried. For context, I'm 28 and not on any contraception so less likely to be hormonal maybe?

If there are any skin changes or eczema around the nipple, please see the GP.
Could get some moisturising ointment to see if it helps.

At your age it's unlikely to be cancer, but you still should see a GP as itching and changes in the nipple are things to report and have checked.

@Mitosisgirl that is odd you asked as I do have some new patches of dry skin but more towards my armpit.

@JaneyAir I had health problems last year that included medical advised sterilisation and a heart attack so I am of the mind anything can happen to me! Hence me worrying quite a bit!

If you do have skin changes over the nipple or areola, do see the GP.
