Posted this in Chat but it’s slipped off the first page, hope someone in GH can help perhaps!

Name changed as don’t want other posters to always remember me as Sore Vag poster 🤦‍♀️

Just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience with an irritated vulva? I’ve had a small whitehead just to the lower right side of my clit for about four days, accompanied by a slight pain/soreness. Today the area nearby seems to have swollen a bit and is a little tender to touch. I’ve had a Bartholin’s cyst a few times before and the tenderness and swelling feels a little like this, but the whitehead and little niggle of pain is new I think... I also think I’ve got an increase in discharge, but it’s all clear and non-fishy.

I’ve tried a warm salt rinse a few times a day for the past three days and switched to Ph Balance shower gel a few days ago too, and if anything the area is slightly more irritated (the swelling and tenderness is new today). Do you think I’ve irritated it further messing around with salt and new shower gels?

I’ve also being using a different cheapo brand of loo roll for the last two months, and also a cheaper non-bio detergent, could my stinginess have led to my irritated vulva? I have had a few incidences or swelling and tenderness over the last couple of months which does coincide somewhat. I also noticed the irritation comes on when I’m ovulating, which seems to involve quite a lot of clear discharge lately. It’s almost like the discharge irritates my vulva and causes the soreness and swelling.

For full info I’m 38, mother of one 4yr old and haven’t had sex in bloomin ages 😕 so unlikely to be caused by some amazing shagathon!!

Dr Internet keeps diagnosing vulval cancer so would be great to hear from anyone who has experience of swelling/soreness/strange little ulcers or whiteheads!

TIA.

Loo roll defo. I have to be super careful about how I wipe. It can give me a rash or thrush. I don't know why, but it's been like that for a long time.

I also don't use soap, just water. A good old water cannons worth tho to feel really clean.

I have to use simple soap and fairy non bio washing powder, otherwise I suffer. Have you got some sudocream or germaline cream, that might help. I also have a long soak in bath, no bubbles, just plain water. Make sure you use different loo paper when wiping back and front.

Thanks very much for your advice 😊 I’ve just left everything alone today and had a good rinse with warm water, no products or poking around! It already feels a bit less sore so let’s hope I’m on the mend.
