Sickness bug!

Hi,

I got a call off my daughters school yesterday around 11am asking to come to collect her from school as she had been sick in the classroom. I picked her up and she said her tummy was sore but when we got home she was fine, she ate some dry cereal and a banana and kept everything down. Said she was feeling better. Had a sleep for around 3 hours and then was fine eating chocolate after that (tried to hide it, she found it haha). Anyway she’s been completely fine since no sickness or anything. However my question here is how long would it take for me or my son to catch this? I have really bad anxiety over this. I’m constantly washing our hands, cleaning everything she’s touched. As soon as she got home from school her clothes went in the washing machine.
Thank you! X

My children are early teens now but when they were at primary school they would always pick up a stomach bug about once a year. Sometimes only one would get it and the rest of us would be fine. It’s really hit and miss. If I did get it it would often be a day or two later. Dh often never got it as he never cleaned up after them! He did once think he was in the clear but came down with it 8 days later. I’m with you though as I have a massive fear of vomiting and would dread winter when they were little, I would always have lots of spray bleach in and would make them eat lots of live yogurt during winter.

Ah it’s horrible isn’t it! She hasn’t been sick at home it was only the once in school and when she got home she was fine but just a bit tired - apparently a few kids in the school have been like that. Just hoping me and my little boy don’t get it now. It was yesterday morning at 11am I had to get her and we have been literally been cleaning everything continuously, washing pillow cases she’s lay on cleaned the sofa over and over and hand washing constantly! Just hoping he doesn’t get it as he ended up in hospital the last time he was sick!! X
