Keyhole hysterectomy - the bloating!!

Had hysterectomy via keyhole surgery 4 days ago. They warned me about bloating due to the gas they put in etc but my god, I look pregnant! It's also very uncomfortable. Anyone else had a similar experience? How long did it take for your tummy to deflate?

Keyhole surgery do cause a lot of gas. I drank some peppermint tea and chewed gum. Abdominal bloating went away in 4 days but shoulder pain lasted for 10 days.

Not me but a friend. Keep moving as much as you are allowed/able to help disperse the gas, move your arms around too and as PP says drink peppermint tea or peppermint oil in hot water.
