What's wrong with me today?

Today I woke up, and as soon as I sat up my head was spinning. I got up and felt dizzy, faint, and sick. I went back to bed to lie down and the feeling subsided. I tried to get up again. And the feeling came back- I tried to shower and felt like I was going to faint at any moment. I went back to bed and had a sick bag ready.

I've spent all day lying in bed - I feel okay when I lie down but dizzy and nauseous if I even sit up. It's peculiar and I've never had this before. Any ideas?

Inner ear problem ? Labyrinthitis ? Maybe speak to your GP though. I'm not qualified.

I would get a covid test. This is exactly how my daughter first felt when she had covid.

AuntieDolly · 13/11/2020 18:01

Labrynthitis possibly. Travel sickness pills may help

Sabrina124 · 13/11/2020 18:04

I don't have any other covid symptoms - no cough or temperature. Did your daughter have other symptoms?

For both my daughter and I, (I caught covid from her), we never had a cough or fever. We had horrible headaches and body aches, ridiculous sweating/hotness, horrible fatigue, diarrhea, and in the 5th day my daughter lost her sense of smell and taste.

Many, many covid patients never have a cough or fever.

I know people who tested positive and never had the cough.

Benign positional vertigo?

Dontsayyouloveme · 14/11/2020 22:45

I had this once after lying strangely in bed, I have a bad neck anyway! Woke up, felt just like you, thought I was having a stroke! WS much better when I lay back down. It went gradually over the course of the day. Deffo neck related in my experience! It’s a very worrying And unpleasant thing to have so I do hope it has eased for you throughout the day. X

Labrynthitis, Menière's Disease, .... see if it comes back. If it does phone your GP.

brimfullofasha · 14/11/2020 22:56

This sounds exactly like my covid symptoms. Didn't develop a cough for a few days after the dizziness started.

Scarby9 · 14/11/2020 23:04

Or vertigo.

tapdancingmum · 14/11/2020 23:08

This is how I woke up at 4am. My ears have been feeling off for the last couple of days but not hurting enough to warrant a call to the dr's. Been feeling dizzy most of the day which is how I felt last year and was diagnosed with vertigo. I have started with an antihistamine and paracetamol and hope it goes soon.
