Hi

I'm an avid Googler.

I wondered how doctors feel when their patients say they've Googled their symptoms.

Has the patient ever been correct?

I’ve been right after using Dr Google.

Had an awful rash all around my mouth and chin, Dr said it was an infection, gave me antibiotic cream which made it worse. Google told me it was perioral dermatitis, went back to GP with this info, he looked it up, agreed, prescribed 3 months of Doxycycline, rash was gone within 10 days.

I have been right after using dr google
Told my consultant what I’d read and he also searched what he called ‘Professor google’ and confirmed.
Think it’s important to check the source info though.

I told a surgeon before that I had googled and it did not say the same as him. He wasn’t very impressed and told me he had enough years experience to know better then google. I don’t think I’ll say that again
