hello mums
i have done a c section 30 days ago, today from 2 days it got infected the doctor gave me some antibiotics and also
i was told that i wash it daily with soap and water so i applied aveno baby wash directly to the scar then washed the soap away
now i read on net that i can not apply soap directly to it does it create any harm after 30 days? can anyone help me as im being in a difficult time and iam afraid that i get the situation worse
thank you

Don't put anything directly on it, especially if it's infected. Best thing now is to avoid bubble baths and use some salt water. I hope you heal up soon!

the problem is i already washed it today with soap as i was suggested to do that but no one told me how to wash it
so i applied soap directly to it
will it create further problems?

How long have you been on your antibiotocs now? After three days I think you'll start improving. Salt or plain water.only I'd say, no shower gel or bubble bath round the area but I'm not a doctor. Is it weepy? You could stick a clean sanitary towel to the front of your pants of so x

Well you cant undo using the soap, so just don't use it again until the wound is closed. Just keep an eye on it and go back to the GP if it doesn't heal.

A great tip I heard is to dry it gently using the hairdryer on the cool setting after a shower. (To ensure it's completely dry)

I can see you're anxious. I had an emergency CS 3 years ago and also got an infection one side of my scar and overhang swelled up. I had blocked ducts and felt just awful. Antibiotics sorted it right out and six weeks later I couldn't believe how much better I felt.
It took about 6 months to feel like me again (with the elective CS it took about a month).

Another tip is to get air to it as much as possible. I used to roll down my knickers over my pubic bone and tuck them under the leg bits to keep them down and then push my joggers below that. No tight jeans or skirts while you're healing.
Lots of lying back on the sofa with baby while whoever is looking after you both runs around.

It will heal eventually.

oh iam so sorry it happened with you as well my infection has just started it is not so bad but i think it will get worse with the soap thing i applied to it. i hope it diesnt create fruther problems as mine was elective because first birth was forceps and 4 th degree tear and it also got infected thats why i chose c section now it has also got infected so i hope i haven't made it worse with the soap i applied im in a very difficult time, getting into depression because im not healing ok like normal ppl do after c section and am very disappointed
