Tummy twitching ?

My abdomen started twitching a few days ago and it is starting to worry me, has anyone else had this ? The twitch feeling is not always in the same place, it moves from high abdomen to my mid section, and I have patches of twitching, then gaps when it isn’t happening, then it starts up again. Feels a bit like a baby kicking ( I am definitely not pregnant, I am menopausal) or when I get an eyelid twitch when I am tired.

I get this occasionally and have done on some off for years - it really is like the fluttering sensation of early pregnancy and it moves about too. I can even see it if I look carefully enough! It goes away eventually, bit like the eyelid thing. I've got no idea what causes it but I suspect it's little pockets of trapped wind in the intestines (I suffer with IBS and am also peri-menopausal). Could also be a trapped nerve. Sorry, not much help but wanted you to know you're not alone! Smile

  • on and off not 'some off'!

Thank you. I googled and frightening comments about aortic aneurysms came up... it isn’t like a pulse though, at least it can be rhythmic but it is more twitchy than that, so someone else having the same is reassuring.

I've had this. I'm not menopausal and have never actually thought anything of it other than it's probably trapped wind? Definitely feels like early kicks of a baby though when you just feel the flutters. I guess it could also be a nerve twitching?
