Last week, my natural fingernail folded back on itself, and broke in a horizontal line across my nail.
My nail looked similar to the attached photo! The top half of my nail was still attached to my nail bed as it broke quite deep down (around 3mm). As it was too painful to remove, I taped it in place and let it grow out.
The top part has fallen off. Part of my nail bed is exposed and I am a bit worried about infection, as the area feels a bit hot and there’s a dull sensation. Any advice appreciated!
