Back sprain/strain/torn muscle? Agony!

Looking for a bit of advice as really don't want to bother doctors at this time. I slipped and fell on my way to the bathroom in the middle of the night on Friday, didn't really think anything of it at the time but in the morning could not move! Agonising spasm pains shooting from my lower back/top of bottom. No actual back pain in any bones or anything. I literally fainted when I tried to stand up from the pain.

Have stayed in bed since apart from shuffling to the loo, taken lots of brufen and put ice packs on it as am presuming I have sprained something or torn a muscle. I thought it would be improving by now but this is the 4th day, my husband has gone into work and I literally scream in pain when I try and stand up. It goes off a bit then if I move it happens again! Is this normal for a sprain? Do I just need to grin and bear it?!?

It could be a sprain and it could very well not be. Do you want to take the risk and bear the consequence for many years to come. A sprain does not make you faint , hair line fractures or herniated disk do. I would advise you to atleast contact your GP over the phone and discuss your symptoms and if your GP advises you to go to minor injuries then please do.

I am in the same position OP, hoovering last week and an electrical pain shot across my back, could not stand up, sit down, agony!
Had physio and have an irritated sciatic nerve, was told to do child pose exercises and walk, the pain is unnatural! Good luck Op
