Biopsy and self isolation

I've been told I need to have a biopsy and had a call this afternoon to book an appointment. However the lady who called said I would need to self isolate for 14 days beforehand which I can't do as I can't afford to take that time off work and my daughter would still be at school during that time.

Has anyone else been in this situation? I don't really know what to do now.

You have to rebook

Either for a time when you can do the SI

Or to a different hospital which is carrying out the procedure you need in general facilities.

What you can't do is ignore the requirement to SI before attending a 'clean' facility.

They haven't booked me in because I can't self isolate.

I honestly can't see any way of me doing it as I'm a single parent.

Can you book in for immediately (or within a day or two) after school holidays to minimise the time your daughter is off school?

Have you asked the school if they could facilitate two weeks home schooling? They must have a plan in place for when kids have symptoms and have to isolate?

I can see some possible options:

1. your daughter goes to stay with friends or family for 14 days (may not be an option)
2. your daughter stays home for 14 days with you
3. you find an alternative place that doesn't require self isolation
4. you postpone the procedure until self isolation is no longer required but who knows how long that might be and what consequences it could have on your health, and it might also take you off the waiting list
