Coughing headaches - Aneurysm?

Hiddennameforever · 01/11/2020 19:27

I suffer from multiple allergies and complicated rare form of asthma which causes thick mucous plugs set inside my lungs.
At the moment I’m taking Prednisolone to calm my lungs down.
Hence it getting loose inside me but makes me cough.
In last few days I cough really hard to try to cough up the phlegm.
Since I got a strange headache.
I don’t normally ever have headaches.
Now since the coughing fit I had ( I forced myself to cough) on Thursday, my left side of head hurts, temple and above the ear leading to the back part.
As I also have health anxiety I panic now that I perhaps caused some aneurysm in my brain from this cough.
I googled and it says it is possible.
It sort of got better today but as soon I started coughing again, the pain is back.
Is any Dr here who could please tell me.
Please don’t laugh if I sound silly ..

You need to speak to your GP. It could be an aneurysm, but it could also be something completely different and benign. Stop googling!

@PenOrPencil
I cant see what else it would be. I never get headache ever.
This is just too strange.

Sinus headache or migraine triggered by coughing.

Headaches are a common side effect of prednisone. Talk to your GP if you are worried but don't panic.

I had Prednisolone before in a past and never had a headache. I’m on it now 2 weeks and the headache just started few days ago directly after the deep hacking coughing .

Is there any chance you are still active on mumsnet? I have the exact same symptoms as you….I can’t find anything else online matching except your post. Id really appreciate it you saw this and could let me know the outcome of yours 💐 I’m really full of health anxiety too

Hiddennameforever · 10/04/2023 12:02

@Asummersday yes I’m ok. There was not any outcome, it just went away.
