Vulva fissure

*NC due to embarrassing topic!

So, since last night I've been in agony to wear certain underwear and intense stinging when peeing and really painful when wiping. Started to panic, done the squat over a mirror trick..

I have a really bad vulva fissure, I have no idea how/why. But woah, it's uncomfortable as hell.

I've showered, cleaned the area and didn't use anything scented. I DTD with DH Thursday & Friday but I never felt uncomfortable or any pain, neither did I feel pain when using the loo after it. It only started today.

It looks like a real tear, quite gross to look at and the stinginess has gotten worse over the course of the day

My question is, how do these happen and what can I do to ease the discomfort?

I've got canasten but wasn't sure if to put any on?

Thanks for any help and apologise for the awkward nature of the topic!!!

Are you quite dry down there? I have to use lube every time. I get one in a nearby area.

Canestan will do f all. The only thing I've found helpful is a steroid gel from GP called synelar.

How about the old water filled glove fingers trick? Fill them up, tie them off, freeze them.

Plus the strongest painkillers available until you can see a doctor. Cocodamol for preference. That must hurt like hell.

When we DTD we used lube, but I'm in my fertile week so not particularly dry.. that's why I'm so shocked of how sore I am. I knew it wasn't related to sex because it's more external and I felt no pain at the time

I feel like I've been for a run in knickers made out of metal wire

I suffer from something called Lichen Sclerosus which is probably not what you have but it does sometimes get very sore. Mine is treated with potent steroids but I would recommend using some Vaseline and speaking to your GP on Monday

I've had this before. I used to get it a lot actually but haven't for years. The only thing that really got rid of it was not having sex for a couple of weeks (sorry) and using lots and lots of Lube. Put a lot specifically on the bit where the fissure is.

Is it like a childbirth tear/graze? Inner our outer labia?

You will need to pee in the shower to keep it clean, or pour water over you while you pee in the loo, to stop it stinging.

Aloe Vera gel may also help.

I used to get this when riding horses. Really painful!

Could be genital psoriasis

gnushoes · 31/10/2020 21:57

OP how old are you? Wondering if it's related to low oestrogen
