Hi just after a bit of advice please as not sure how worried I should be about dh

Dh is 48 and had some mild but visible blood in his urine for a few days (not a lot by any stretch and not continuous but was seen). He also had episodes of severe pain in back which came and went in waves over a few days. He has a feeling of fullness in his penis and a urge to wee but not weeing if you get me

Rang gp who gave him antibiotics for a week

Blood in urine went away within couple days but after a week the waves of pain still came and went - from severe for an hour or so to completely fine the next minute so we suspected kidney stones. His brother gets them and thought it sounded similar

At one point his wave of pain was bad that he went walk in who gave him more antibiotics and submitted referral. At this point and since he’s had no blood visible but it was detected in test at walk in centre

He was then sent for ultrasound in days which didn’t detect stones which worried us

He was a few days later sent for ct scan and it’s now a week and he’s jus got an appointment letter for appointment with urologist in two weeks time

Just worried cos it’s all been very quick - like walk in centre to ultrasound to CT scan within two weeks

He’s worried so rang gp yesterday to see if he could chase results. GP was busy but receptionist said she can see results are back and he could either come in or have gp ring him

Dh asked for GP to ring him tomoz as this was quicker than waiting for face to face

If it was serious would we have been rung straight away or would it be left a few weeks anyway?

No experience of this sort of thing so not sure how good and bad news is dealt with

Thank you
