How long can a 10 month old go safely without eating?

dd is taking about 350-400mls milk per day, and enough water - I'm not too worried about dehydration. But she's barely eaten a thing since Thursday (very, very heavy cold, ABs which have caused runs/nappy rash, teething) and is white faced, exhausted, napping a lot etc.

NHS Direct have a four hour ring-back for non-urgent cases, but we will take her back to GP tomorrow if no better. Meantime, any reassurance from MN gratefully received - I hate seeing her like this, and she's not exactly overweight to start with

oh the poor love, its so horrid when they have a cold - i'm no expert but i would say she will be fine. Especially as she is drinking plenty and is taking milk which is a food. You know how awful you feel with a bad cold. Rest is what she needs and that is what she is taking, i would of course worry if you coudlnt wake her or she was unresponsive, had excessively high temp etc. Go back to your doctors in the morning and i hope you have a good night sleep.

Have you tried Karvol on a tissue in the nursery etc, also, raising the head of the cot helps loads in clearing congestion. All little things, and calpol too.

NOt much to add really, just bumping

If she's having lots of milk, she'll be fine.
Calpol (medised at night), nurofen, karvol, head of cot up etc etc.

Thanks, both...she's not taking very much milk, but I think she's a teeny bit better tonight (didnt' throw up her Medised, hurrah). Viruses should be banned from affecting tiny ones, IMO
