Botox for Urinary Incontinence

I'm booked to have Botox in December to treat Urinary incontinence which I am hoping will let me have some semblance of a 'normal' bladder as I am sick to death of always having to be near a toilet no matter where I go.

Has anybody had this treatment and if so did it make a significant difference?

It really depends on what your exact problem is. If it's over active bladder then Botox can in theory stop the muscle contracting as much and calms it down.

If it's stress incontinence caused by giving birth or weak pelvic floor muscles then I don't believe Botox would help that.

Have you been prescribed medication already for overactive bladder? Has that helped?

One of the risks of Botox is that it can be overdone so you can't wee at all and that would last till it wore off.

Has your consultant talked to you about all of this?
