Possible hep c causing fatty liver? Advice needed

Name changed for this as very outing. Looking advice/reassurance really particularly from anyone who has been in a similar situation. So I gave birth very recently and about a week after I started getting right upper quadrant pain. Went to gp who suspected post partum gallstones. Lfts were done and ALT/ALK were mildly elevated. Referred for ultrasound which was negative for gallstones but did show that my liver was slightly 'bright'. When I queried this the radiographer said it was indicative of fat on the liver. So of course I turn to Dr Google and have a look at the risk factors to see that I have none (I'm very slim, low cholesterol, young, no hypertension/diabetes etc). Lost all pregnancy weight within a week or so. I then see that hepatitis c is a risk factor which has got me in a whole tailspin as back in the heyday I briefly dated a guy who used iv drugs. I feel ill with worry and so ashamed that I may possibly have this disease. Still having the pain in liver area which makes me think it's quite damaged. Can anyone advise please?
