dd is on second day of ABs (she had cough/cold then started to run highish temp, and had swollen tonsils/crackly chest - but tbh its mostly 'just in case' as she has laryngomalacia and has been v ill in past) and today has a) lost appetite b) got the runs and dreadful nappy rash and c) is throwing up, and off her milk.

Which is tricky, because as well as ABs she has reflux meds in milk three times a day - only way to get anything into her, as she spits out with professional accuracy with syringe.

She's such a cheerful bean, but today she's been exhausted and miserable. I'm sure a lot of it is from the ABs rather than the virus/infection, too - though she's very, very snotty - and I feel bad for giving them to her 'just in case'.

I must carry on though, right? Right

my ds cant tolerate abs.and last time we were advised by nhs direct to stop until we saw gp again.i think gp found something else for him.ds had same reaction as your dd.my advice would be to phone nhs direct as she probably is sicking up the abs anyway.

Thanks, wouldn't have thought of that. She has managed to keep down ABs up until now, but if this keeps up she won't be - and it does feel a bit like cracking a nut with a sledgehammer atm. Will phone them in morning

Thanks moljam - am off to bed (she's just been up again, had a sip of milk and a lot of water) in the hope of snatching some sleep! Appreciate the reply

how is she today?

give her probiotics if she's taking abs, although agree that that doesn't sound like a good reaction at all and she might be allergic.
