Surely 7 years old is way too young to have BO?

My dd1 is only 7 why on earth does she have BO? I've always been really really careful with her food, organic 90% of the time. Am I wrong to be shocked?

My ds1 is now 9 and has had wiffy armpits for a good 18 months. I was rather shocked at first! He has clean shirts every day and I've gone for 100% cotton this year. He is particularly stinky after football, but at least it's easy to get him in the shower after that. The rest of the time he is rather shower resistant! None of his peers seem to have the same problem.

Her shirt doesn't whiff but she's just been very much told off by her father (dh) and is upset/furious. Its just I've never smelt anything before and its been such a shock.

I posted on this a few weeks ago, my Dd, 7, same problem. Had a lot of answers to say this is normal at this age and maybe to use crystal deodorants. I bought one and DD loves it, it will last ages and no more worries for her when doing PE

sweetcat · 12/10/2007 19:09

Goodness, why was she told off?

Wills · 12/10/2007 19:29

She's tired and rather jealous of her sister and basically got extremely lippy with her father and sometimes doesn't know when to back down. There's a defiant element about her that appears occasionally and is almost self destructive.

Oh, thought it was because of the BO.

Your DD sounds like mine. I actually had a word with her teacher today because she is so angry lately, and won't say why so I thought she was perhaps being bullied. Apparently she is OK is school so maybe it's me or DH. Or maybe it's another of those bloody awful "phases" they go through. I swear she is hormonal.

Wills · 12/10/2007 19:42

Yes I must admit when I got the "whiff" I thought Oh god not PMT? Surely not at 7?

She may be hormonal. dd is 8 and she definitly is. She has been wearing deoderant for the last year and ds (7) has just needed to start wearing it too. They both use a crystal deoderant and it works well.
