Hi, this is my first post. Bit scared! Have taken solpadol for over 15 years and doing my own withdrawal. Only took 2-5 tablets a day but loved them! Took them for the buzz. It’s been 10 days and I do feel better but today the nausea and badly upset stomach came back with a vengeance. Is this normal? Thank you all. Stay safe Confused

Your stomach upset may be unrelated or could be part of the withdrawal. Although you have taken Solpadol for a long time you did not take many so I am sure you will be fine.

I didn't know you could buy it without a prescription.

Yep withdrawal from codeine based drugs can cause diarrhoea. It should pass in a couple of days.

PhilCornwall1 · 15/10/2020 05:15

Were these prescription ones? I thought the strongest codeine based you could get over the counter was 8/500.

I'm on 30/500 (zapain) and have to get that on prescription every 2 weeks.

I'm on these, have been for years for chronic pain.
I've tried to come off them but it made me extremely cranky and I was getting random zapping pains all over so I just stayed on them. I only take 3-4 tablets each day though.
Codeine can cause constipation so it figures when you come off it, diarrhoea may occur. Give it a few days and it should settle down.
Well done op!

Codeine can cause constipation

Does it ever!! I'm on up to 8 a day and some days I'm blocked up worse than a London sewer full up with a fatberg!!!

Hi everyone, it was on repeat prescription for back pain. It’s never been reviewed. I have been taking meds for the diarrhoea (sorry) every few days and most other symptoms have calmed down. Seems like I would have been better to just “let it all out” and be done with it!
