Carpal Tunnel surgery - How long will I need off work

I work in retail. I don’t have to do heavy lifting but do have to unpack new stock. I work on the till and in admin on a computer.

How long is sensible to have off?

I went back after 2 weeks on medical advice, I was tempted to go back after a week though.

Yes, I felt like it would be fine but the Gp said no, I'd be tempted to do too much. She was right, I would have been.
