has anyone torn a tendon in their knee before

ive been told by someone i should be in plaster but the hospital has only given me a bandage and told be to keep moving it rest it on a night
im confused not that it takes a lot

sil had hers in plaster when she did hers a couple of months ago, but she was in plaster from her hip to her toes.

who told you it should be in plaster?
tbh I would trust the doctors who saw you at hosp- they know how bad your injury was

If you have just torn one tendon, I don't think you need to be in plaster. Many years ago I tore both tendons, smashed my knee cap and tore and folded the meniscus disc (cartilidge (sp)) in one knee whilst skiing (or rather whilst rolling down a mountain) and they did not put that in plaster for a long time as they believe tendons should heal themselves. It was only after a second hospital visit noticed the knee cap and meniscus disc damage that I had surgery and was put in plaster from my hip to my toes)

I did, and was bandaged up and given crutches so i could get around without putting too much weight on it.
