Raised Prolactin

Has anyone been diagnosed high prolactin levels? Mine was 1374. Had a blood test 2 weeks before and it was 1482. Been taking Vitex agnus castus for a week so not sure if it was that which helped it drop a bit or was just a coincidence. Has anyone else had this?

I know Angus castus was recommended to a woman who was breastfeeding her preschooler and still hadn't had her period after 3 years as she wanted to get pregnant, (it worked) so at a rough uneducated guess it's possible?

I'm only guessing; prolactin is high when you breastfeed. I remember she had a baby around a year - 18 months later.

Why were your prolactin levels measured?

I had a miscarriage in June and my first period didn't come back until 7 weeks after my d&c and then my next cycle came on day cd45. I decided to have my hormone levels checked and this is how they discovered my levels were high

I am wondering if a miscarriage could raise prolactin levels

I have high prolactin and a prolactinoma. I was diagnosed when I came off the pill to TTC years ago and my periods didn’t return. Also had milk leakage. I had to take quinagolide then brimoxriptine. I should still take it but I gave up several years ago when I started taking medication for something else.

@icedancerlenny I am so sorry to hear that. Can I ask how high your levels were. Do my levels indicate what you had?
